  2. Extract to the installation folder and replace the file.
  3. In the installation folder, go into CoJ2\Data\Menu\Movies.
  4. Delete or rename attract.wmv.

Issues fixed

Game crashes during the first story cinematic

Switch your audio card to DVD Quality format[citation needed]
  1. Right click the Windows Volume Mixer icon in the taskbar
  2. Select Playback devices
  3. Choose your current playback device in the list
  4. Click Properties
  5. Open Advanced tab
  6. In the drop down make sure that 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality) option is selected
  7. Hit OK

Intro and menu videos play upside down

Download and install Windows 8/10 upside down fix.

Notes

The intro movies will be skipped and the menu movies will be displayed correctly.

Run the game at screen refresh rate

Max refresh rate is 60 Hz; this does not affect game render FPS, but determines your monitor's refresh rate.
Set refresh rate manually[citation needed]
  1. Go to the configuration file(s) location.
  2. Open Video.scr with a text editor.
  3. Change MaxRefresh(60) to the screen refresh rate.
