Essential improvements

Skip intro videos

Mission cutscenes automatically play until the mission level is loaded, upon which a left click will allow skipping.
Delete video files[citation needed]
This will disable the game intro video which forms part of the campaign storyline. You can keep this by not deleting intro.webm.
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\video\
  2. Delete or move these files:
default.bik
default.webm
dolby.webm
frontend_load.webm
intro.webm
treyarch.webm

Latin American audio mod

Latin American audio mod[4]
Taken from the console version, the mod dubs Latin American audio over the English release audio. Titles and text are still presented in English
It's highly recommended to backup the English language files before using this mod
Does not support the Spanish version of the game
Some DLC maps do not have Latin American audio available, even with the mod
  1. Download the modded archives here.
  2. Change the language of the game to English.
  3. Paste the downloaded files over the existing language files.

Issues fixed

Stuttering

The game has some compatibility issues with older operating systems such as Windows 7 due to the outdated graphics stack (WDDM).
Change operating system[citation needed]
  1. Back up your files and programs.
  2. Go to Microsoft site .
  3. Select at will the type of transition to Windows 10.
  4. Upgrade to Windows 10 or reinstall from scratch.
  5. Download and install the latest drivers for your configuration, in particular the video card.
  6. Turn off the transparency of the desktop interface in the system settings in the personalization color section.
  7. You can also turn on the game mode in the system settings to ensure a higher priority of the game in automatic mode.

Notes

This action is the cornerstone of stability and smoothness of the gameplay, as Windows 10 has more advanced basic elements that the game requires.
You can also disable the function of HPET which is a technology of high-precision timer in the motherboard.
This can sometimes cause performance problems.
Disable HPET[5]

Method 1:

  1. Tap on the Windows-key, enter cmd, right-click cmd.exe in the results listing and select to run the command prompt with administrative privileges.
  2. To enable HPET as the only timer run the command bcdedit /set useplatformclock true
  3. To disable HPET in Windows run the command bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
  4. Restart your computer.

Method 2:

  1. Search "Device Manager" on your PC.
  2. Scroll down to "System Devices" and open the sub-menu.
  3. Scroll to "High Precision Event Timer" and click it.
  4. Click "Actions" at the top of the window, and from that pop-up menu, click "Disable".
  5. Restart your computer.
TweakGuides has created a comprehensive guide for fixing issues in this game. It can be found here.

FPS drop while zooming in

Frame rate drop while aiming down sights.
Set low Depth of Field[6]

Set Depth of Field option to low without significant visual impact.

Additionally you can turn off Ambient Occlusion and FXAA which affect the speed when aiming down sights.

Mouse Lag

Significant mouse lag with vsync enabled.
Use Borderless Windowed mode[citation needed]

If you're experiencing mouse lag from vertical sync and screen tearing without it, selecting Borderless Windowed mode from the video options menu may solve the issue.

Error '57475' When Joining Game

Fixing 57475 error[citation needed]
These steps should fix the error, but they reset all of your stats.
Please be aware that, by using Cheat Engine or Similar tools, you are highly exposed to the risk of being banned by either Treyarch Anti Cheat or VAC.
  1. Download a memory address editor (like Cheat Engine).
  2. Run the game. Go to barracks. Use an editor to change the value of address '02e97ca4' (version 21.406.7) to 5.
  3. Go to 'Prestige mode' and then click 'Prestige Awards'.
  4. Select 'Fresh Start'. Your stats should now be reset, and the error shouldn't come up anymore.

Issue with changing Language

Fixing Localization Problem[citation needed]
This problem occurs after switching the game language. It crashes the game on startup with a message similiar to this one :

"Error during Intialization:

ERROR: sound Bank failed to load cmn_root.Englisch. You have a Build Problem."

Solution : Set the language of all three game parts (singleplayer, multiplayer and zombies) to your desired language and wait for Steam to finish downloading.

Zombies Leaderboard and Campaign Career Record crash

Crash during campaign whenever Career Record is displayed, or in Zombies whenever Leaderboard is displayed. Caused because of bug displaying more than 60 and less than 100 Steam friends.
Change number of friends[7]

Delete friends list until total is under 60, or add more friends until total is over 100.

Steam Offline mode or Firewall block[8]

Set Steam in Offline Mode. You may not unlock achievements. You can block "t6sp.exe" for the campaign and/or "t6zm" in your Firewall by creating a blocking rule for incoming and outgoing traffic. Achievements works, but you won't be able to play online or retrieve leaderboards.

Unhandled Exception Caught

Verify[9]
  1. Verify local files for singleplayer and then multiplayer.
  2. Reset Steam.

Highest resolution not showing

Monitor may support 1920x1080, but highest available setting may be 1440x900 or 1680x1050.[10][11]
Use borderless fullscreen windowed mode[12]
  1. Set the windowed mode to Windowed (Full Screen).
  2. Restart the game.
  3. The missing resolution will now be listed in-game.
Set Catalyst Control Center[13]
  1. Go to the Catalyst Control Center > My Digital Flat Panels > Properties (Digital Flat-Panel)
  2. Activate "Enable GPU scaling".

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/202970/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (202970) may differ in some cases.
