Widescreen resolution

Modify config file[1]
  1. Open <path-to-game>\data\config\backtogaya.ini with a text editor.
  2. Find a section [gfx]
  3. Find a line starting with res_x = and set its value to your desired screen width.
  4. Find a line starting with res_y = and set its value to your desired screen height.
  5. Save the changes and start the game using BackToGaya_Release.exe instead of GfxSetup.exe.

Notes:

The game uses vertical- FOV scaling, so it's recommended to increase the FOV - See Field of view (FOV).
Starting the game with GfxSetup.exe will break the screen display.
Some GUI elements (like buttons in menu) may be partially off screen.

Field of view (FOV)

Modify config file[1]
  1. Open <path-to-game>\data\config\backtogaya.ini with a text editor.
  2. Find a section [gfx]
  3. Change the line perspective_fov = 200.000.
  4. Use the following equation to increase FOV to widescreen aspect ratios:
    • Back to Gaya - Horizontal Plus Perspective Equation.png
  5. For a wider FOV, decrease perspective FOV even further.

Windowed

Modify config file[1]
  1. Open <path-to-game>\data\config\backtogaya.ini with a text editor.
  2. Find a section [gfx]
  3. Change the line fullscreen = true to fullscreen = false to enable Windowed mode.
