Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland^{[Note 1]} is a singleplayer third-person JRPG game developed by Gust Co. Ltd. and published by Koei Tecmo. It is the twentieth main installment in the Atelier series and the fourth entry in the Arland tetralogy. Chronologically takes place after the event of Atelier Meruru, the game follows the protagonist Elmerulia "Lulua" Frixell, an adopted daughter of famed alchemist Rorona Frixell.

Initially released on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan on March 20, 2019, it was ported to PC and first released in Japan and North America on May 21, 2019, followed by the release in Europe on May 24, 2019.

Get pre-order DLCs using SteamDB^[2]^[3]

The pre-order DLCs are completely free.

Although the pre-order DLCs cannot be acquired on Steam directly, it is still possible to get all pre-order DLCs using SteamDB.

Go to the SteamDB website.
Sign in on SteamDB.
Install the SteamDB extension.
Grant SteamDB permission.
Go to the Headstart Item Pack package on SteamDB.
Click on "Add free license".
Do the same for the Weapon-Strengthening Symbols (Set of 8), Lulua's Outfit "Fish Girl" and Lulua's Outfit "Innocent Fairy" packages.

Being signed in on SteamDB or keeping the extension is not required after obtaining the DLCs.

Atelier Sync Fix

Improves GPU utilization in D3D11-based Atelier games and can dramatically improve performance as a result.

Extract into <path-to-game>. Add as a command line argument `WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d11=n,b" %command%`. Only required on Linux/Steam Deck.

Heavy stutters without a controller

The game will stutter every few seconds if a controller cannot be found. Solutions:

Physically plug in any controller to your computer.
Simulate a "fake" virtual XInput controller using vJoy, Special K or Key2Joy.
