Using the in game frame limiter and adaptive sync will allow running at native and higher resolutions as well as turning up many other settings. It is very noticeable when playing at the recommended 30fps how much smoother animations are. Combat is easier, especially from horseback as there are not the wild fps changes that occur on many systems when playing above 30fps. This may be difficult for PC players accustomed to having 60fps games. Origins is simply tuned to that frame rate and performs and looks at lot better at 30fps. <ref>{{Refurl|url=https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/assassins-creed-dev-thinks-industry-give-up-on-60fps-standard/|title=Assassin’s Creed dev thinks industry should give up on 60fps standard|date=2019-09-29}}</ref> <ref>{{Refurl|url=https://news.ubisoft.com/en-us/article/313680/assassins-creed-origins-pc-specs-system-requirements-revealed|title=ASSASSIN'S CREED ORIGINS PC SPECS AND SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS REVEALED|date=2019-09-29}}</ref> <ref>{{Refurl|url=https://www.reddit.com/r/assassinscreed/comments/816abs/assassins_creed_origins_made_me_play_on_30fps_and/|title=Assassin's Creed Origins made me play on 30FPS, and it's awesome!|date=2019-09-29}}</ref> | + | {{ii}} The game has been optimised for 30fps for all systems (PC and console). Key points
- The game has been optimised for 30fps for all systems (PC and console). This is why the recommended PC spec's cite 30fps. [1] [2] [3] [4]
- Includes benchmark and captures performance metrics for the last 30 seconds of gameplay.
- Game is very demanding on the CPU and benefits from additional cores.[5] Use level of detail decreasing settings and limiting frame rate to improve performance.
- The game does not support Storage Spaces drives, see Game fails to launch if installed on a Storage Spaces drive.

Issues fixed
Game fails to launch if installed on a Storage Spaces drive
- The game will fail to launch if installed on a Storage Spaces drive. This will either cause the
ACOrigins.exe
process to get stuck on the splash screen or in the background. - Storage Spaces is Microsoft's new software-based RAID solution for Windows 10, allowing users to create and make use of virtual disk drive(s) that spans across multiple physical drives in a desired RAID configuration.
Move the installation folder to a regular non-Storage Spaces drive[7] |

|
High CPU usage and stuttering on 2/4t
Set frame rate limit[citation needed] |
---|
Option can be found in game settings. Sometimes also helps (when both clients are running) going into offline mode on Steam and Uplay, then launching the game. |
Disable "Control Flow Guard" in Windows Defender[8] |
---|
Use this instruction and choose executable. Don't turn off CFG globally - it's a major security breach.
|
Use InSpectre |
---|
|
Install the game on SSD (for stuttering)[10] |
---|
Graphics quality decrease since 1.04/1.05 patch
Downgrade to 1.03 patch[citation needed] |
---|
See here for instruction.
|
Poor performance on AMD FX CPUs
Disable the Cool and Quiet feature in BIOS settings and set the Power Plan to High Performance[citation needed] |
---|
Players who are using AMD FX Series processors may experience FPS drops and freezes, especially with the FX-8350 model. Please note that a good cooling solution is also recommended in order to avoid overheating issues, should you implement this workaround. |
Stuttering on high end configurations with 60 FPS and more
Set borderless window in options and turn off antialiasing[citation needed] |
---|
Very low FPS on SLI configurations
Instruction[11] |
---|
If you've done both of the above and still have 5-7 FPS make sure to disable these overlays (in this order, depending on what you have installed):
If you still need a boost in performance, set process priority to High in the task manager. |

- ↑ 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in
~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/582160/
in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (582160) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
