Revision as of 12:07, 11 November 2023
This page is for the Master Collection re-release. For the original release, see Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - Master Collection Version is a singleplayer stealth game published by Konami. It is part of the Metal Gear series.
The original game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, was developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami on PlayStation 2 in 2001, and chronologically takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid (1998). The expanded re-release, Substance, was released on PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC in 2002/2003, which added over 300 additional missions, along with five side story missions featuring Solid Snake.
It was later included in the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, developed by Bluepoint Games and released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. The HD Edition included in the HD Collection serves as the basis for the Master Collection Version.

Use DXVK[2]
|
To run the game through the computer's dedicated GPU instead of being forced to use its CPU's integrated graphics, DXVK can be used to fix this issue.
- If using MGSHDFix, go to
<path-to-game> and rename d3d11.dll to winmm.dll .
- Download dxvk MGS3.zip and extract its contents to
<path-to-game> .
- Press ⊞ Win+R and run
dxdiag .
- In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool window, click the Display tab and take note of the computer's dedicated GPU name in the Device box.
- Open
dxvk.conf in notepad and type the dedicated GPU's name in-between the quotes, exactly as it reads in the previous step. Save and close the file.
- Run the game.
|
Set the game to use an integrated GPU[3]
|
